![]() Innocent Sin supporting character Maya Amano, a reporter for a teen magazine, became the lead character of Eternal Punishment. During the development of Innocent Sin, writer Tadashi Satomi thought its story needed another point of view besides protagonist Tatsuya Suou. Released the following year in Japan and the U.S., Persona 2: Eternal Punishment was a direct sequel to Innocent Sin that took place months after its ending. With the aid of their Personas, they battled Joker, who spread reality-warping rumors through the city. It focused on a class of high school students from the fictional Sumaru City's Seven Sisters High. A sequel to the first Persona, it had all of the hallmarks established in the first game. Persona 2: Innocent Sin was released in Japan for the original PlayStation in 1999.
